The Bourne Legacy is the upcoming spin-off of the Jason Bourne Film trilogy where a new lead will take the reigns of the film and presumably further exploit the machinations of the Treadstone organization. Jeremy Renner is an increasingly hot commodity after his most recent performances have been deemed some of his best with the expectancy for that to only get better. Now Universal Pictures has officially offered the lead role to Renner in efforts to secure his participation during this critical juncture in his career.

I’m shocked that it’s taken this long for this casting news to make the rounds but today we are learning that Kate Beckinsale has been offered a lead role opposite Colin Farrell in the film.

I’m told she’s been offered to play Lori, who was portrayed in the 1990 Paul Verhoeven-directed actioner by Sharon Stone…
…Beckinsale wasn’t among the names most often mentioned among actresses who read for Lori. But she certainly has a track record with the film’s director, Len Wiseman. They’re married, and before that, worked together on the Underworld films.

The Lone Ranger has been one of those movies that’s been sitting on the ‘radar’ mainly out for posterity as I really don’t remember ever watching the show in my youth. Either way the idea of a good western is never ignored on my watch so today’s news regarding Ryan Gosling considering the Lone Ranger is slightly bitter sweet.
