Seems the idea of a fifth Indiana Jones film has been batted around, and even a concept may have been suggested by Lucas trying to get Ford and Speilberg in on the game for another round.

DarkHorizons quotes Harrison Ford

The actor tells The BBC that “we’re seeing what comes of it…The process works like this, we come to some basic agreement and then George goes away for a long time and works on it. Then Steven and I get it in some form, some embryonic form. Then if we like it we start working with George on it and at some point down the line it’s ready and we do it.”

My biggest concern is that despite Ford showing that he still had what it took to play Indiana Jones, I really wasn’t that impressed with Crystal Skull. To be fair, I didn’t hate it like some people did, but everything outside of Indy himself was just ok to bad.

However one of the things we heard a lot of while waiting for Crystal Skull was that Ford would just be too old for this shit, and for the most part they were right.

Now they are entering the same cycle of Lucas writing an idea that Spielberg and Ford will get a peek at, some approval process and banging out the dents (and CGI monkeys) and then more waiting and working on it.

People were worried that Ford was too old for it, and he proved them wrong. But the longer they wait again, the more that concern will appear, and there is no guarantee that Ford will be able to shake of that criticism.

I’d love to see them find a mid-younger actor to do a “Not-So-Young Indiana Jones Adventures” movie telling one of the many adventures Jones had BEFORE the Lost Ark.

At the same time, there will be many who hated Crystal Skull who wont want to give this a chance, but I have some hope that there is magic still in that old whip and hat, and if they do get around to doing this again it will be judged on its own.
