Probably most remembered as Associate Bob in Demolition man or Otho the interior decorator in Beetlejuice, actor Glenn Shadix has died today as an apparent result of a head injury in his home.

ContactMusic reports:

The wheelchair-bound 58 year old, who played decorator Otho in Tim Burton’s hit film, banged his head in the fall – and that killed him, according to his sister Susan Gagne.

In a statement she says, “He was having mobility problems, and he was in a wheelchair. It looks like he fell and hit his head in the kitchen, and that’s the cause of death.”

 

Shadix also supplied a great number of voices to animation, most notably the mayor of Halloweentown in A Nightmare Before Christmas.

Shadix was an ever present face popping in many productions or hiding behind various voices, but he always did his work well.

In tribute, I will offer up the popular Banana Boat Song scene from Beetlejuice.

Rest in peace Mr Shadix.
