I saw this film tonight at a pre-screening in New York City.

So why the four stars? Well, the problem is that it is exactly what I expected. Yes, I deliberately went in with low expectations and came out amused and entertainment (the point of the movies, right?). But I guess I was hoping for something that would make this film stand out among other Robin Hood movies/books - something unique. I found it in some areas, but it lacked in the areas where it would work best. For example, a positive is that this film is not a depiction of the Robin Hood legend as we know it, but more of a prequel to the legend. What happened before he became an outlaw? Beyond that, the story, it's plot, characters, jokes, dialog, action scenes and cinematography are copies of what has been done before.
