    Plot Outline:
A pair of well-meaning, but socially inept brothers try to find their perfect mates in order to provide their dying father with a grandchild.

    Plot:
John and Dean Solomon may have Ph.D.s, but they're socially inept after their widowed father home-schooled them in Antarctica. When their beloved dad falls into a coma, they hatch a plan to revive him using a positive emotional shock - giving him a grandchild. They find a surrogate mom through Craig's list - she's Janine, a penniless local musician, with a large, intimidating boyfriend, James. The pregnancy gives the Solomons nine months to learn to be parents. In a side story, John pursues Tara, a neighbor who takes care of their dad when John and Dean are out; but she has no interest in John. Can the boys keep Janine and James happy, keep dad alive, and learn to be dads?

Popcorn and Dead Bird, 2 January 2008
    7/10
    Author: scoochie9 from United States

"The Brothers Solomon", while quite funny, could be compared to "popcorn and dead bird".

Much of it is laugh-out-loud-funny in a bit of a commercial, "popcorn" kind of way, and much of it lays inert on the ground like the proverbial "dead bird". "Dead bird" is somehow proverbial, isn't it? I mean, you've got the Phoenix, and maybe the Raven (was the raven dead? I can't remember)... but that's not really the thing I'm talking about here... Oh well... Nevermind.

    Awkward pause.

So anyway, the actors Will Arnett and Will Forte (also the writer) were fabulous in their perpetually upbeat cluelessness! The story was sweet, completely absurd (which is a good thing, in my opinion), and full of every possible type of comic hilarity. I just found the pacing a little bit too uneven to give it a higher rating (sorry guys!!!).

This movie most certainly won't appeal to everyone, but if you enjoy extreme silliness (as I do!), you probably won't be disappointed by this kooky, stupid, sweet, and utterly ridiculous film.

Movie Quotes: John Solomon: I literally can not wait to feel myself inside you!
Janine: Woah! The only thing you're going to feel yourself inside of is a cold Dixie cup.
Dean Solomon: Well that certainly doesn't make your vagina sound very appealing.
Crazy Credits:: We know about 3 Crazy Credits. One of them reads:
At the end of the credits, "Whahappan?" appears just before the soundtrack information.
Goofs: We know about 5 goofs. Here comes one of them:
Continuity: In the scene where John and Dean encounter Janine's boyfriend in her living room, Dean picks up a fireplace broom to defend himself. At first, he brandishes with the bristles pointing up- when the angle changes, however, he is brandishing the handle.
